ShyftMate is designed to help employees coordinate shift opportunities inside organizations they are authorized to join. We aim to collect and use only the information needed to operate, secure, and improve that experience.
Information we may collect
- Account information such as name, email address, phone number, and verification status.
- Organization membership, role, shift preferences, notification preferences, offered shifts, claims, approvals, and related activity.
- Device and installation information needed for security, trial protection, push notifications, and app operation.
- Subscription or entitlement status. Payment card details are handled by the applicable app store or payment provider and are not stored by ShyftMate.
How we use information
We use information to authenticate users, verify phone and email ownership, provide organization-scoped shift features, deliver notifications, enforce access controls, prevent abuse, support subscriptions and trials, troubleshoot issues, and protect the service.
Organization privacy
ShyftMate is designed so users only access organizations and shift information they are authorized to access. Access controls and organization-scoped permissions are part of the service design.
Notifications
ShyftMate provides in-app notifications and, when enabled, push notifications about shift opportunities and personal shift events. Email is used for account confirmation, password recovery, security, and support—not as an operational shift-notification channel in Release 1.
Service providers
ShyftMate may use service providers for hosting, authentication, database services, email, phone verification, notifications, app distribution, and payment processing. These providers process information as needed to provide their services.
Shift-history retention
Detailed shift history is retained for two years based on the scheduled shift date. A shift remains available through the matching two-year anniversary date and becomes eligible for automatic deletion the following UTC date. Shift-owned notifications and delivery records are deleted with the detailed shift. A participant’s display name is recorded with each shift so shared history remains understandable if that person later changes their name, leaves the organization, or deletes their account. This shift-name record is deleted with the shift. You can export Shift History PDFs before records expire and keep those exported copies for your own records.
Account deletion
Account deletion disables sign-in, revokes active sessions, removes personal notification, device-token, preference, and active entitlement data, and deletes sole-user shift offers. Recent shared shifts needed by another active member remain with the participant name recorded for that shift; shift-specific notification payloads are removed while terminal shared-shift integrity is preserved.
Deleting your ShyftMate account does not cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel or manage any active store subscription separately through your Apple or Google account to avoid future charges.
To prevent repeated free-trial or account abuse, ShyftMate retains only a limited pseudonymous trial ledger: irreversible hashes derived from verified email, verified phone, installation and, when supplied, network identifiers, together with the original trial dates. Raw deleted-account email and phone values are not stored in that ledger or exposed to organizations. Subscription event and purchase history needed for fraud prevention, reconciliation, and business records may be retained in pseudonymized form.
Longer-lived operational records
Organization identity and lifecycle information, membership dates and lifecycle events, minimal historical membership display names and roles, subscription/business records, administrative audit and deleted-organization archive records, and anonymized or aggregated usage statistics may be retained longer for legitimate security, operational, financial, dispute-resolution, and legal purposes. A protected Platform Admin administrative-history record may retain the deleted account’s historical display name, verified email address, and verified phone number so ShyftMate can identify prior members and account lifecycle events. It is not exposed to ordinary users or organizations and does not restore the disabled account. These longer-lived records do not extend the two-year period for detailed individual shift records or their participant-name snapshots.
Children
ShyftMate is intended for people using the service in connection with shift-based work and is not designed as a service for young children.
Changes
We may update this policy as ShyftMate evolves. Material changes will be reflected by an updated date and, where appropriate, communicated through the service.
